Love it. Just got back from the mountains and I don't feel like I used to after riding in my Cherokee jeep. Leather and CD stereo changer are great. I love the hatch window and the air conditioning performed well in 106 degree heat. Lots of interior room for a one-rear seat vehicle and the back seat folded down to accommodate storage of sports equipment. Roof rack was easy to adapt, and the trailer hitch I installed carried my bikes with aplomb. All in all I love it, especially with the Ford 0.9 percent financing I got on my four year loan.

The Ford Explorer 1992 is the biggest Lemon I have ever driven, I cannot for the life of me find out why this car was not recalled. The car pulls to the right constantly even after having it aligned. The welds on the door were not done properly so water leaks in and the body is rusting. The speedometer just goes haywire in the middle of driving going from 10mph to 75mph. The fan belt blades crack and break, was not manufactured correctly. There is a hum in the back of the truck from the fuel pump. The air conditioning is r-12 so that has to be replaced. The AM reception does not even come in. The exhaust system has a rattle from loose heat shields on the muffler. I opened the driver side door the other day and the door dropped 1 inch down off of it's hinge. The brakes in this is the biggest problem figure on having the brakes and all the hardware done every 2 years, this has cost me $1,000 for the work done. The rotors are constantly being replaced, all the ball!
joints and axle joints had to be replaced. If there is a living nightmare it is the 1992 ford explorer. This truck loves to go into the shop and is there at least 2 times a week. I have become friendly with the local mechanic and send him and his family Christmas cards. The lights on the dash have a short somewhere so the Rear anti-lock Brake light is constantly coming on. I find it comes on when you put on the rear defroster. The rear windshield wiper has a short or a bad motor somewhere so when you put your rear wiper on in a rain storm you have to run outside in the rain and slam the trunk until the wiper goes on. Either I got stuck with Cristine the demon car or the 1992 Ford Explorer is a lemon, I am interested from hearing other peoples nightmares. I have tried contacting Ford but get no response and they dont even have a website for customer complaints Via e-mail, geeze to much traffic. This whole experience with Ford and there product has left a sour taste in my mouth!
like after biting into a lemon. I would never purchase a ford again because I can see the response I get from them. "Sorry it is not our problem anymore"
