"A disappointing purchase to say
the least. It has had major repairs, thankfully we purchased
an extended warrantee. I am taking it back next week for it's
3rd transmission repair in a year and the 4th speedometer since
we owned the van. It has needed a new crankshaft, headgaskets,
air bag, door gasket, seat belt, and numerous other repairs.I
will never buy another Ford or Ford product. I said that the
last time too. But this time I mean it. This van has been a
disaster. When nothing has gone wrong for a while, I just hold
my breath. If I hadn't purchased an extended warantee, I would
have traded a long time ago. I don't drive my vehicle hard, I
maintain it and I expect good service. The sad part is the Windstar
is comfortable, roomy, the interior has held up and the seats
give you good support. However this van is a lemon!"
Problems: Transmission rebuilt twice in 9 months and it's going
back again to the shop. New head gasket, crankshaft, 3 speedometers
have gone bad, airbag failed on passenger side, seat belt failed,
and other repairs"
