You know what kind of car you want. You know what options. And, you know what price you want to pay. You have decided to buy through a dealer rather than over the internet. One technique is to fax a letter to a number of different dealers in your area. The dealer has the option to call if it accepts the price. The following is a sample of letters you can cut and paste into your word processor. Print the letter out and fax away!

To whom it may concern:

My name is _____________________. I live at _______________. My telephone number is_______ and my e-mail address is _____________________.

I am interested in purchasing a [year] [make] [model] [color] with the following options: [be very specific about options and options packages including color]. I am willing to pay $__________ (excluding tax and license) to purchase the [model] if it matches my description.

[{optional} If you do not have the vehicle which meets my criteria exaclty, I am willing to modify my desired vehicle as follows: [describe how you will modify your offer]. I am willing to pay $__________ for the modified vehicle.

If you are willing to sell a vehicle which meets my criteria please contact me by [e-mail] [telephone] [address].
