The Durango was made for Montana. DDL drives his Durango in Great Falls and certainly exposes his vehicle to every weather assault possible. The Durango came through well receiving high scores. In fact, DDL says "to date [the Durango] is the best vehicle I have owned. DDL's scoring notes that on hills, and Montana certainly has them, the 5.2L loses some oomph. That, and occasional wind noise is DDL's only criticism of his red Dodge. DDL has enough miles to have determined whether the Durango has problems. He reports that his vehicle is trouble-free. An excellent review. Overall Rating:

Louisiana is much different than Montana, but each region presents its own difficulties for an SUV. PT rated his white Durango very well. The vehicle has 22,000 miles and has been trouble-free. An admirable rating, indeed. In the hot and humid environment in Louisiana an air conditioner is essential. PT noted that the Durango's air conditioner is not perfect. The only other less-than-perfect scores were for brakes and exterior trim. PT recommends the Durango and is quite pleasaed.

MI's Durango has been human, a good truck but not perfect. However, MI does recommend the Durango and the vehicle has not had any major problems. The survey has revealed some concern with the air-conditioner, a problem others have mentioned. The heater and the Durango's storage were also not rated above "neutral." MI found the Durango's power better than adequate for passing and hill climbing. MI found the Durango easy to drive around the city but highway handling was not as good as it could be. The Durango also received an above-average score for its smooth ride. MI found some flaws but he is still happy with his truck. Overall Rating:

NJ's Durango came with nearly every option. The option package included the 5.9L engine. As we would expect, the Durango received highest marks for passing, hill climbing and acceleration. NJ has been pleased with his purchase but living in a metropolitan area he has found that the Durango is difficult to park. NJ's remarks show the Durango has "plenty of power" and his Durango is roomy. His Durango also handles well and has a solid ride. A testament to ladder frame construction. Best of all, NJ says the Durango is a good value.

Brian's Durngo scored well in the crucial categories such as performance and dependability. He also makes good use of the 5.9L V-8 as he tows a 6,500 lbs trailer. His ratings were very high except for the climate control system and storage. Brian marked "neutral" for those areas. Brian's transmission was marked "agree" suggesting the shifts could be better. The Durango's interior and exterior is holding up well and overall, another excellent review.

Another New Jersey Durango. Do these trucks ever get off road? They may, however, encounter winter weather which is exactly what the Durango seems to be made for. FT of New Jersy is very pleased with his vehicle. In nearly every category the Durango rated the best or close to the best. FT's only complaint seems to be with the air conditioning. FT also notices it can be challenging to park the Durango, especially in suburbia. Again, the Durango receives excellent marks for ride, handling and acceleration. The vehicle was marked down slighly for interior/exterior fit and finish and braking. Overall, an excellent score.

California's more temparate climate is still Durango country. DC of Daly City gave his Durango excellent marks. He gave the vehicle a nearly perfect score. The only demerits were for the air conditioning and wind noise. However, DC gave "agree" scores in both categories. Even in cold and foggy Daly City the air conditioning is important! DC has 8,000 miles on his Durango, well past the break in period. The only problem DC mentioned was a "minor problem with the driveshaft (front.) The problem was fixed and DC recorded no other complaints. It is clear DC is very pleased with his Durango.

CH did the right thing and before buying drove nearly every SUV made. He bought a Durango. He notes "the exterior screams 'look at me' while the interior is warm an inviting." He values the Durango's power and remarks "[t]he truck hs torque where it is useable and horsepower to spare, even with my 5.2L." CH loves his Durango and notes it "satisfies my needs and caters to my desires." A tall order these days in the varied SUV market. CH did have a few problems which really isn't that unusual with a new truck. He noted that he had to have the front end aligned due to an adjustment problem at the factor. He is pleased with his dealer service department noted the simple fixes were taken care of in less than a day.

IL gave his Durango a nearly perfect score. With the 5.9L engine he finds the Durango's power, passing and hill climbing abilities exceptional. Handling received top marks although he did mark down the Durango slightly for its cornering abilities. He did not think the Durango was as easy to park as it could be. Nonetheless, you have to look hard to find something IL is not happy about with his Durango. His vehicle is trouble-free and he would highly recommend it.

MV is in the 31 to 40 year old age bracket. We expect that he has probably owned a few vehicles over the years. Therefore, when he indicates on his survey that this is the "best overall vehicle" he has ever owned we take notice. He has given his Durango a nearly perfect score which shows he is very pleased. The only questions which did not receive the highest score concerned wind noise. MV still though the wind noise was acceptable, but he does occasionally notice the problem. MV also mentions a problem every Durango (and most) SUV owners relate to, the gas mileage is poor. There are trade offs and MV thinks the Durango's power and towing ability make up for its poor mpg.

About 85% to 90% of theDurango owners seem to be very satisfied. WEBB has had some frustrating problems and he cannot recommend the Durango. His review is important because he has put over 36,000 miles on his vehicle. His Durango has not been trouble-free and he had to replace the shocks and ball joint at 20,000 miles. There is not much he was happy with the vehicle, but he did seem generally pleased with his Durango's hill climbing, passing acceleration and highway ride. He was especially displeased with the Durango's interior and exterior wear. The air conditioner also did not fair well. Overall, WEBB was not pleased with his Durango. Overall Rating:

SR has put enough miles on his Durango to work out the kinks. After 33,000 miles he still loves his Durango. SR is pleased with the way the interior is laid out. He is pleased with the vehicles towing capacity and drivability. However, he notes that after 33,000 miles the vehicle needs new shocks. SR also notes the vheicle's gas mileage is not great but he probably expected this when he bought his Durango. After 33,000 his Durango has been very dependable. The only problem he mentioned was a minor problem with the engine light. This was fixed in the second week of ownership and he has had no problems since. Overall Rating

Many car buyers are loyal. If they ever stray from their favorite make they look upon their new purchase critically. WV notes he is a "long time GM" person who has never owned anything else. He bought a Durango and loves it. He enjoys the Durango's looks and performance. He is even considering trading in his wife's van (a GM?) and getting a new Durango. He gave his Durango a perfect score. An excellent review.

EP recommends the Durango and gave it high marks. There was nothing he was not pleased about. However, there were several areas in which he did not give perfect scores. He is satisfied with his Durango's acceleration generally, but did not give it perfect scores in this category. He may have preferred the 5.9L. Overall, a very good survey which shows the Durango performs well for most in all areas. A very versatile vehicle. Overall Rating:

Trabuco Canyon sounds like Durango country. JM agrees since he gave his Durango excellent scores. He gave his Durango "strongly agree" or "agree" scores in every category. The only categories that he gave "agree" were for braking, wind noise and air conditioning. His Durango has proven to be trouble-free and he recommends the vehicle. He mentions http://forum.durango.club as a good source for Durango information.

PP of Florida says the Durango is the "best darn SUV on the market." His survey results confirm his enthusiasm. However, he does note that there are several things that Dodge can improve. He indicates his Durango does not brake well. This is confirmed by the long stopping distances recorded by popular automobile magazines. We wonder whether the 4-wheel ABS option improves braking. He is also not thrilled with the Durango's ride. However, the ride is a trade off for the Durango's handling which PP rates as excellent. Overall, PP is very pleased with his Durango and recommends it.

ZZ recommends the Durango and he has been pleased with his vehicle. His Durango has been trouble-free in its 9,500 miles. ZZ's Durango received top marks but there are several categories which did not receive the top rating. The categories are seat comfort, air conditioning, ride and braking. Except for the seats, others have mentioned air, ride and braking as less than perfect components. Clearly, the only categories of the Durango that have received consistently lower rating. However, these are small concerns considering the Durango's strong ratings in all other categories. There was one area ZZ said he "disagreed" and that was how easy the Durango is to park. This is probably due to the Durango's long wheel base.

Green is an appropriate color for Washington's KM's Durango. His SUV blends well in the landscape, especially when he takes it off-road. KM has driven his Durango long enough to get to know it well so it means something when he remarks that the Durango is "an excellent SUV, best buy I have ever made in 35 years of driving." He has given his Durango an almost perfect score in very category, except, of course, air conditioning.

JP recommends his Durango. There are several areas, however, that he mentions are not up to snuff. He was "neutral" as to the Durango's passing and hill climbing. We are surprised by these results given that JP has the 5.9 engine. He also noted that the Durango's heater, although good, is not perfect. His Durango has been trouble-free.

SP has the Durango's basic 5.2 engine. Yet, he tows up to 4,000 lbs. He is pleased with the Durango's power and hill climbing ability. SP's Durango received an almost perfect score. The only areas which did not receive the best score are the air conditioning and braking. He also remarked that the Durango is hard to park. SP adds that "Dodge has made a good SUV that fills the gap between the Suburban and Explorer."

Not everyone mentions the third seat, the Durango's real advantage. GB of Texas does and notes that it is the "best third seat in its class." GB notes the Durango is a "[v]ery well thought out design." The third seat is not the only reason to buy the Durango according to GB since he gave it nearly perfect marks in very other category. Again, the only categories in which GB did not give the Durango perfect marks were braking and air conditioning.

BN recommends his Durango, although he has had it in the shop. The dealer fixed BN's, you guessed it, air conditioning. Maybe the dealer's repair fixed the Durango's anemic air conditioning problems. BN has generally overlooked this minor digression and he has given his Durango nearly perfect marks in every other category, except braking. Something road tests have confirmed is deficient. Probably no car is perfect and BN gave his Durango very high ratings.

VA recommends his Durango and gave it very good reviews. According to VA, his Durango has excellent acceleration and passing power. Not many, if any 5.9L owners are disappointed in the Durango's power range. VA likes the way the Durango handles generally but he did give the Durango only "neutral" scores in parking and turning. This is probably attributable to the Durango's long wheel base. VA, like many others, has also found his Durango does not stop as well as it might. VA gave the Durango strong, but not the top, scores for interior and exterior fit and finish and wear. VA's Durango has been generally dependable, considering it has 30,000 miles and only one problem was reported. However, the problem was relatively major a "slipped intake manifold gasket." This problem occurred at 14,000 miles. This is the first report of this problem so it may have been a fluke. Overall, a very favorable report. Overall Rating:
