The Lexus RX-300 has won critical acclaim. The vehicle is quite car-like yet has available all-wheel drive. PA has already logged 37,000 on his RX-300, more miles than any car magazine reviewer. PA seems quite pleased with his RX-300. The only criticism he had was with the vehicle's nimbleness. He notes that although handling is generally good, the vehicle is hard to park and turn. He also has some criticism of the vehicle's wind noise at highway speeds. The RX-300 has a dash you either like or hate. The video display has been panned by some. Moreover, PA has had some problems with the video display noting that it tends to be slow in cold weather and hard to read in direct sun light. Hardly an advancement. PA also asks Lexus to add a map light for the passenger so he/she can read the map while the driver drives. A reasonable request. Body shape could be improved as the wind noise in the interior is overwhelming when the sunroof is open over 35 mph. On the other hand, the Lexus is safe. PA rear ended another vehicle at 10 mph without damage to his Lexus (but damage to the other). Lexus is thought to be very dependable, but PA's Lexus had a problem with the accelerator in winter. The bumper also has a tendancy to chip. However, PA is still quite pleased and says this is the best SUV he has ever owned. Overall Rating:

Lexus entered the mid-sized SUV battle with the RX-300. It has many car-like features and was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes ML class. LY has logged 1,500 miles ind is quite impressed with his RX-300. He notes that it is very quiet on the highway although at 75 mph there is a noticeable amount of wind noise. Storage is not optimal, and LY notes when the back seats slide back rear storage is greatly reduced. However, on the flip side, the rear seating is quite comfortable. LY ordered the heat seater option which he thought was unnecessary until he found it provides superior comfort on long drives. Handling is good, but did not receive the top rating. The turning radius is rather long. Visibility, however, is excellent. LY is quite pleased so far and says the "quality on delivery" was excellent. This is a vehicle which has a lot to offer and if you do not need a serious off-road vehicle (with low range gearing), or extra room, it is a great all-weather people carrier. Overall Rating:
