The Subaru Impreza is Subaru's smaller vehicle. It comes in all wheel drive, unique in this price range. Jc of New York is pleased with his Subaru. The vehicle rated very well. Handling got top marks. The vehicle has adequate power for passing and hill climbing. Interior conveniences, such as air conditioning and heater did not receive the top marks but next to the best. The Subaru is generally quiet in the city and on the highway, although there is a hint of wind noise. Two categories were potential problem areas, the seats and interior wear and tear. JC notes that the fabric on the driver's side seat had already been replaced by Subaru once and needs to be replaced again. JC's Subaru only has 84,000 miles on it so the interior wear is premature. These were minor complaints, however, and JC notes he is very pleased with his car. Overall Rating:

Owner's Comments: "This is an awesome car. It is reliable, and very predictable. The ride feels solid, and the AWD makes the car feel like it sticks to the road. I travel at 75-80 mph on the highway and the car feels solid. The steering is perfectly weighted. The car responds to what I tell it to do. I feel very in control. In Massachusetts we get lots of snow. This car has never faultered. I have driven through snow that my neighbors 4wd Ford truck got stuck in. I have also avoided a collision with a telephone pole due to the incredible AWD of this car. As for quality fit and finish, this car scores big with me as compared to other cars in this category. I test drove and researched them all before making a decision. Other cars seemed to be flimsy and cheap. Almost like they were made with whatever was left in the parts bin. The Impreza is solid and the interior has a nice fit and finish. I take my friends out all the time and the doors are always kicked open from the inside. The plastic panels have yet to show scuffs and scratches. My only regret is that I did not wait, because i would have gotten the 2.5 RS instead. I like the more aggresive look and the increased power. I would recommend this car to anyone." Report Card:

Owner's Comments: This is my second Impreza, my first was a '97 Impreza with the 2.2-liter 4-cyl. engine; Let me start by saying that the 2.5 RS is a huge improvement. I love the sporty feel of this car. Its a blast to drive and the AWD is great on icy roads, no need to worry about switching to 4WD like I do with my SUV. The car is a bit cramped with 2 kids, but the price was right and I know these cars are reliable. Other than a few minor squeaks and some wind noise on the highway the car is great. I would recommend this car to anyone. Report Card:
