This is KL's newest Subaru. His other Subaru has 250,000 miles (1990 Legacy see next panel.) The 1997 GT has perfored very well as well although KL only has 47,000 miles on this vehicle. The Subaru handles well and is easy to park. Acceleration received next to the best marks, but not the best. The only top score was for "ride". Braking received good marks. The vehicle is wearing well. KL gave "good" marks for both interior and exterior wear. KL's Subaru is dependable, generally, although he has developed a nagging problem with the engine which has not been clearly diagnosed. He is a little frustrated with this problem. Everything else about the car, however, has been excellent. KL is even considering moving into a 2000 Legacy L. A very good score for well-engineered car. Overall Rating:

If you would like to see what condition your new Subaru will be in ten years from now read this review. KL has a 1990 Legacy with 250,000 miles. In a quarter of a million miles KL's Subaru required minimal repairs. He notes "[a]ll I have ever done to this car by way of repair was: water pump, strut and it seemed to eat front brakes." KL notes that this is "the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned." In fact, his only complaint is self locking doors. He complains that he could easily be locked out of his car. Overall, in the survey KL gave his Subaru strong marks. The car handles well and accelerates adequately. He gave the highest mark for handling. His Subaru got "neutral" reviews for highway and city wind noise. This vehicles's proof is in pudding, 250,000 miles and still going. Overall Rating:
