Alameda, CA  1999 VW Jetta 13,000 mi Wolfsburg Ed. with ABS, sunroof, sports seats, CD, pwr windowns, power doors alarm

The VW Jetta was has been redesigned. That is a good thing given the problems the vehicle had in its former life. Most liked the former VWs looks but the vehicle was not very dependable. NFs 1999 Jetta has been trouble-free over 13,000 miles. In fact, she is very pleased with her car. There are a few areas of concern, the transmission, for example. NF is not pleased with her Jetta's automatic shift. However, she is pleased with the vehicles quitness on the road. She also mentions how pleased she is with the interior's durability. The Jetta is also spacious and comfortable for NF. She gave the vehicle the highest ratings for interior space. NFs high marks, and the fact the Jetta has been dependable for 13,000 miles suggest VWs new Jetta is a completely different car. She is happy with her vehicle and recommends it. Even with nearly every option she still found the vehicle is a good value for the money.

Alameda, CA  1999 VW Jetta 11,800 mi GL

CD's gave his Jetta strong scores across the board. There were only several categories in which he did not give top scores. CD indicated that his Jetta could improve its braking. Interior wear also did not get top scores. Power, generally good, did not receive great scores for passing. However, hill climbing and general acceleration were good. Handling did receive high scores generally, indicating this is one of VW's best qualities. Overall, CD recommends his VD and thinks that it is a good value.

Owner's Comments:

"Repairs: trunk lock repaired many times; panel lights light up for no reason, fix requires removal and replacement of the dashboard." NY also mentioned that the dealer seems impatient and does not seem receptive to complaints."
