 Pisgah, AL

 1999 Ford Ranger

8,900 Black

4 cyl, 2WD, 5sp, air, CD

TG states "I recommend this vehicle to anyone who wants a reliable, durable and affordable truck." Sounds like Ford hit its niche with this model. It is not surprise the Ranger is an excellent platform. Ford's super-popular SUV, Explorer, is based upon the Ranger's platform. NG gave his Ranger very high marks in all categories. The highest marks were for handling, ride comfort and fit and finish. NG's Ranger has only 8,900 miles but he notes that interior and exterior wear has not been a problem. NG does mention a problem. He apparently has a problem with the switching the heat from front vents to defrost vents. Otherwise, NG is very pleased.

Owner's Comments:

" My Ford ranger has overall been a nice truck, I've had several problems with the electrical system ever since it was new. In 100,000 miles I have not had any expensive repairs. If you buy a Ford Ranger spend a few extra dollars and get the extended cab."

Trouble free? = no
Repairs = Minor electrical problems, with winsheild wipers and alarm, and heat"
