The Dodge Avenger is a slick package. Dodge purchased the Mitsubishi V6 to give it adequate power. JG agrees, giving his Dodge "strongly agrees" ratings for acceleration, passing and hill climbing. Handling received good, but not the best marks. JG gave "agrees" for questions about the Avenger's parking and turning. JG did give it "strongly agrees" for cornering. Interior ergonomics received strong scores as well as JG finds his Avenger comfortable, clear gauges and adquate storage. JG's Avenger has outstanding braking and transmission as well. JG gave his Avenger strong, but not the best, scores for interior noise. JG also gave his Avenger strong scores for interior wear. Excellent scores for exterior wear. Overall, JG says this is the "best vehicle I have ever owned." Overall Rating:

This Avenger is older than the vehicle in the first review. Moreover, this Avenger has the Dodge 2.0 liter engine, clearly an underpowered package. The shortcomings show, as DP is not pleased with her Avenger. Power is inadequate and handling is average. The interior is generally comfortable and its seems to be wearing well. DP has had repeated problems with the transmission which is not encouraging considering the vehicle has only 88,000 miles.DP does not recommend her Avenger and it seems, at least based upon this review, that it would be a good idea to stick with the newer model with the updated power plant.
